A 6Ha area, small Glen or ravine of a small burn, the side of which are thickly covered with natural wood.
Good quality valley woodland containing upland Oakwood and Upland Mixed Ashwood.
Good connectivity between moorland, enclosed agriculture, and the built environment.
The ground flora is moderately diverse. Good structure for woodland breeding birds and invertebrates.
Iron Age Hillfort is situated on Carman Hill. Halfway down the slopes are the remains of a Neolithic Chambered Cairn.

What to bring with you
Start and Finish Points
By vehicle from Main Street (B857) turn into Cardross Road and continue until small park can be seen on the right hand site of the Carman Reservoir. Once parked you can access the Glen by foot via the path. By foot the Glen can be accessed via the A82 layby.
