A 77 hectares woodland situated North east of New Bonhill
Bonhill Quarry contains red sandstone cliffs approx 360 million years old. They form part of a belt of red sandstones that outcrops from Arran to Stonehaven.
Excellent structure in the woodlands is the perfect breeding grounds for birds and invertebrates.
The Key interests of the area are: Priority Habitat, Upland Oakwood and Ashwood.

Start and Finish Points
By foot the woodland can be accessed from 334 Braehead, New Bonhill where you can see the path from the road. This path splits so you can take either one to walk to the woods and further to the well. By vehicle from Stirling Road (A813) turn into Nobleston from the roundabout, follow the road untill you can turn right into Pappert, follow till the end of the road where you turn right into Braehead, take the first left and you can park at the end of the road where you will see the footpath.
