An ancient volcanic plug within the central Kilpatrick Hills with range of moorland habitats and spectacular views.
Upland Heathland, Fen, Blanket Bog. Mosaic of moorland habitats including dry and wet upland heath, fragments of modified blanket bog, and acid grassland.

A particular interest for Birds, due to the mix of habitats
Includes Duncolm, highest point in West Dumbarton. Extent 405Ha.

Start and Finish Points
By foot from Kilpatrick train station, at the end of the platform turn right into Station Road and follow under the A82. Follow the road while it bends to the left and take the first right road to Loch Humphrey. Follow this road all the way to Loch Humphrey, keeping the loch on your left follow the footpath round to the right where you will see three mounds in the distance ahead of you, Duncolm is the furthest away hill. By vehicle from Dumbarton Road (A814) turn into Station Road at Old Kilpatrick and follow the road under the A82 until you see the car park. Once parked follow the by foot directions.
