Big adventure around the Balloch area and not far from Loch Lomond

This small area of woodland, 1084 ha (4.55 acres), with walks and picnic areas, is located just to the south-east of Loch Lomond Shores.

Start and Finish Points

By foot, these woods can be reached from Balloch train station by turning right onto Tullichewan Road then right onto Balloch Road, Balloch and turning into the car park at Sweeny’s Cruises Loch Lomond where you will be able to pick up the footpath at the end of the carpark to the right near the river. Follow the path till it bends to the left and joins with Pier Road. If you turn right you will be able to go to The Maid of The Loch boat and Balloch Pier and see views of Ben Lomond and Loch Lomond. If you turn to the left and follow Pier Road you will see Lomond Shore Shopping Centre on Ben Lomond Way to your right. If you stay on Pier Road and continue left you will be able to follow this road back to Balloch Road.

By vehicle from Balloch Road, Balloch turn Sweeny’s Cruises Loch Lomond car park and pick up the foot path at the corner of the carpark near the water and follow the by foot directions.
